OUR STUD

Located in Dunsborough, in the spectacular South West of Western Australia, Paperbark Lodge is just under three hours drive from Perth and 30 minutes from Busselton Airport.  Set on 70 acres of farmland, our boutique stud consists of a small but carefully considered group of mares boasting generations of internationally proven pedigrees. Our aim is to breed sporthorses, with a dressage focus. We carefully consider both the dam and the sire line when choosing suitable stallions for our mares.  Our broodmares are considered a part of our family and are kept in top condition through correct equine management, including balanced nutritional requirements.  We only breed a small amount of foals per year and focus on quality over quantity, offering limited warmblood horses for sale each year!

When possible, all our breeding is done "on farm" by us, together with our chosen veterinarian to minimise disruption to our mares and to have them feeling as relaxed as possible during the breeding season.  Plus, we like to be a part of the whole story of our progeny, from conception to birth of our foals and subsequent handling until they are ready for their new homes or old enough to be started under saddle.

At Paperbark Lodge our aim is to breed international quality warmblood sport horses from approved bloodlines, for all riders, amateur to professional. In addition, we are committed to customer service and want to ensure the process of acquiring your next horse is both seamless and enjoyable! We are motivated to invest in outstanding mares and to provide the Australian equestrian community with access to horses bred with top international bloodlines.  We also sell imported frozen horse semen to astute breeders.
